Healthy, easy strawberry chia jam

4-ingredient strawberry jam made with chia seeds. It is not a ton of added sugar that thickens the jam; the chia seeds do! Jam that taste like real fruit and it is ready in just 10 minutes! You can use other berries as well to make this chia jam.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 small lemon (juice, to taste)
  • 2 tbsp water (to prevent the strawberries from sticking to the saucepan)
  • 0-3 tbsp honey (or agave syrup or maple syrup; to taste)
  • 2-3 tbsp chia seeds

Instructions
 

  • Add strawberries, water, honey and lemon juice to a small saucepan and heat it up. Once it is boiling, reduced the heat to low and let it simmer until the fruit has softened.
  • Mash the fruit with a fork (mash less if you want a chunkier jam, more for a smoother jam).
  • Take it off the heat and add the chia seeds. Stir and let it sit for 5-15 minutes so the jam can get firm(er).
  • Transfer to a jar and refrigerate.
