Whole wheat tortilla chips

These whole wheat tortilla chips are made out of our homemade tortillas. Don't throw away leftover tortillas! Cut them up,baked them in the oven and TA-DA you have tortilla chips. An easy and simple recipe.Let's get dippin'!

Ingredients
  

  • 4 whole wheat tortillas* cut into 8 pieces
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika for spice rub. Leave out if you want plain chips
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder for spice rub. Leave out if you want plain chips
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder for spice rub. Leave out if you want plain chips
  • 1/4 tsp ground chipotle for spice rub. Leave out if you want plain chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350F/175C
  • Lightly grease a large baking tray with olive oil
  • If you are using the rub, mix all rub ingredients in a bowl. Add the tortilla chips and toss to combine
  • Spread out the chips on the greased baking tray. Slide into the oven and bake for 6-8 minutes
  • Flip the chips over and bake for another 2-3 minutes
  • Transfer to a tray lined with paper towel to absorb any excess grease before serving your chips in a bowl
